Cedar Trail Records

Cedar Trail Records is the record label division of Cedar Trail Music. The record company was founded as a natural progression to the artist development work that we were doing at Cedar Trail Music.

Cedar Trail Records is devoted to finding and working with talented up-and-coming country music artists -- finding the best and helping to get their music to the world.

As an indie label, we have been in bands ourselves and know what it's like to try to get a break in this business. So our philosophy (like that of most indie labels) is to do our best to work closely with our artists in much more of a partnership format than you would traditionally find. It's a pretty simple business philosophy: if you do well, we do well.

B"DO YOU ACCEPT DEMOS?"
BCONTACT CEDAR TRAIL RECORDS

We get this question a lot, and the answer is yes, we do.

While we make a point of getting out to local clubs, festivals, talent shows and anywhere else we can find where there is potential new country music talent, we can't be everywhere at once (although sometimes we wish we could).

So we do accept unsolicited demos and promotional packages from unsigned country music artists who are looking to further their careers and think that they have something special to offer.

We do our best to get back to everyone who submits material for consideration, so feel free to send something along (details in the next column).

If you would like more information about Cedar Trail Records, or if you would like to send us a promo kit or demo CD, visit the contact us page for our mailing addresses and other information.

Please note, submitted materials will not be returned -- so don't send us your only copy of something, or anything like that.

What To Send
If you're going to send something, be sure that you have a decent quality CD recording of yourself/your band. It can be a studio demo, a home studio demo or a live demo, as long as the quality of good. Try to send at least two songs that best represent yourself or your act. If you are really in a pinch, a DVD or video of yourself (as long as the sound quality is good) is acceptable.

If you are a vocalist, you don't necessarily need to send original material -- a good quality karaoke recording of a song that showcases your voice will suffice. If you are also a songwriter and have a good recording of some original material, that is also welcome.

Also, please include a good quality photo of yourself and a detailed biography about you and/or your band.
